The church of St. Peter and St. Paul is located in the Carrera del Darro, along the river and at the foot of the Alhambra. It is  of Mudejar style and was built between 1559 and 1567, on a site that was formerly occupied by the mosque of ´Los Baños´.

The most notable of this temple, designed by Juan de Maeda, are the extraordinary Mudejar ceilings, as well as the Renaissance roof of the first of the ten chapels, all of them made by Juan Vilchez . The cover, designed by Pedro de Orea, is a magnificent specimen of Andalusian renaissance of late sixteenth century.
