The building of the current City Hall was built in the sixteenth century on the site previously occupied the headquarters of the council, in front of the cathedral. In the years 1569-1571, given its dismal state, they undertook an emergency intervention by Miguel Altué. In 1577, this same teacher works undertook an almost total reform of the house, the result of which was the Courtyard and Chamber we see today.

 

Only forty years later, the consistory decided to build a new facade. This time, the contract was formalized with Antonio Mendizábal, Hernando Abbey and Juan Martinez.
