We are at the heart of the village of Alquézar, the former Plaza Mayor, and today called Mosén Rafael Ayerbe. This is a beautiful arcaded square, under whose arcades, with semicircular arches, the traders and artisans used to sell their products.

Alquézar came to enjoy the privilege of holding a weekly market and an annual fair since 1528, the year in which Charles V approved this concession to the town. That fact enabled Alquézar initiate a new phase of splendor and flowering
